# Cashback Campaigns

Setting up cashback campaigns is one of the best ways to use iziGift to drive more revenue, increase your margins and incentivize customers to purchase again.

Below is a step by step guide on how to set up your first campaign.

1. Go to the Campaigns page.
2. Select "Create Cashback Campaign"

3. Fill out all of the question in the form on the "Cashback Campaigns" page.
4. Click "Open Theme Editor" (or "Add cashback block"). The theme editor opens with the iziGift Cashback block already added to your product page — see [Show cashback on your product pages](#show-cashback-on-your-product-pages) below.
5. Move the block where you want it. We recommend below the add to cart button.
6. Click **Save**.
7. Go back to the Cashback Campaigns page and save your progress.
8. Go to your storefront and view a product page to see the campaign on your store.

## Show cashback on your product pages

The cashback banner is the **iziGift Cashback** block. It is a block inside the product section of your theme — not an app embed — so you will not find it in the **App embeds** list. You do not need to turn on the "Send as gift" app embed for it to work.

1. On the Cashback Campaigns page, click **Add cashback block** (or **Open Theme Editor**). iziGift opens the theme editor on your product page with the iziGift Cashback block already added.
2. Drag the block where you want it. We recommend below the add to cart button.
3. Click **Save**. The banner does not show on your store until you save.

To add it by hand instead: open the product template in the theme editor, click **Add block** in the product section, and choose **iziGift Cashback** under **Apps**.

## Troubleshooting & FAQ

### What happens if store credit issues late?

Each campaign can set when credit unlocks and when it expires. Usually the credit issues on its unlock date. Sometimes it issues later, for example when the app is reinstalled after the unlock date. When that happens, iziGift makes sure the customer still has time to spend it:

* **Expires a number of days after it unlocks** — the expiry moves later by the same number of days the credit was late, so the customer keeps the full window.
* **Expires on a fixed date** — the date stays the same when it is at least 14 days away. When it is closer than that, or already past, the credit expires 14 days after it issues instead.

### Can Klaviyo send my cashback emails?

Yes. Turn on **Send cashback emails through Klaviyo** and build one flow on the **iziGift Cashback** event. When that switch is on, each campaign also shows its **Klaviyo label** in the **Summary** card and a **Remind customers before credit expires** setting under **Credit timing**. See [Cashback Emails in Klaviyo](/izigift-help-docs/basics/klaviyo-integration/klaviyo-cashback-flow.md).

### I don't see the cashback block on my product page

The most common reason is that **the block was not added to the theme template that the product you're viewing actually uses.**

Shopify stores can have many different product templates (for example `Default product`, `product.gift-card`, `product.sale`, etc.), and the iziGift Cashback block only appears on the specific template(s) you added it to. If a product is assigned to a template where you never added the block, the cashback box will not show on that product — even though it shows on others.

**Step 1 — Check which template the product uses.**

1. In your Shopify admin, go to **Products** and open the product that isn't showing the cashback box.
2. In the right-hand sidebar, find the **Theme template** dropdown.
3. Note the template name (e.g. `Default product`).

**Step 2 — Check which template you added the block to.**

1. Go to **Online Store → Themes → Customize** to open the theme editor.
2. At the top of the editor, use the page/template selector to switch between templates.
3. Open the same template you noted in Step 1 and confirm the **iziGift Cashback** block is present in the product section.

**Step 3 — Fix it.** Either:

* **Add the block to that template** — open the matching template in the theme editor, click the **"+"** in the product section, and add the iziGift Cashback block (then Save); **or**
* **Reassign the product to a template that already has the block** — change the **Theme template** dropdown on the product to a template where you've already added the block.

> **If you use multiple product templates, you must add the iziGift Cashback block to each template you want it to appear on.** Adding it to one template does not apply it to the others.

### I don't see the block in the theme editor (URL-based campaigns)

If your campaign is saved as a **URL-based** campaign, the cashback box only appears when the shopper visits the page with the matching `?cashback=` link. The theme editor preview doesn't include that link, so the block will stay hidden in the editor even though it's added correctly — this is expected.

To see it while editing, you can either:

* **Temporarily deactivate the campaign.** When a campaign is inactive, the visibility rules are turned off, so the block becomes visible in the theme editor and you can position it. Re-activate the campaign when you're done. **Yes — deactivating the URL-based campaign will make the block show in the editor.**
* Or switch the campaign to **sitewide**, which always shows the block.

> **Note:** Sitewide campaigns always display the block in the editor. URL-based and other conditional campaigns only display on the live storefront when their condition is met.
